Siempelkamp has concluded a contract with the GIM Group in Göttingen for a second MDF line destined for AGT, a manufacturer of wood-based panels based in Antalya in Turkey. The order for the new Siempelkamp plant also includes the delivery, assembly and commissioning of a fibre dryer and energy plant by BÜTTNER.

Both systems are to be installed next to the first BÜTTNER plant that was delivered in 2012.

The new dryer with a capacity of 45 t/h atro is to be located above the first dryer on the already existing steel structure. The dryer is to be heated by flue gas from BÜTTNER's energy plant, the exhaust fumes from the two local gas turbines as well as additionally by a BÜTTNER Type BLB gas line burner.

The energy plant with a total combustion output of more than 64 MW includes the grate firing with different burners, the thermal oil heater and the process-steam generator.

What's special about this system is that the customer's new ORC plant for generating electricity is being fuelled entirely with thermal oil from BÜTTNER's biomass-fired energy plant.

The flue gas is to be cleaned by an energy-saving and low-wearing electrostatic filter.

AGT was so impressed with this concept that BÜTTNER was also immediately awarded the order for the new electrostatic filter for the existing energy plant. The flue-gas cyclones are to be dismantled and the ESP installed in the same place during a shut-down that will last only a few days.
