The first complete system for our South African client PG Bison was successfully commissioned at the beginning of March 2022 at the site in Piet Retief. The big drum dryer type 6,5 x 32 R delivered the first dryed flakes for the first board produced by the Siempelkamp ContiRoll ®.
The new drum dryer with a flash tube pre-dryer is supplied with flue gas from the Büttner energy system. The energy system, with a firing capacity of 43 MW, is comprised of a grate-firing system for combusting waste wood and wood chips as well as burners for sander dust and granulate.
The existing Büttner drum dryer for wood chips from the year 1984 will be replaced by the new system.
