Babcock-BSH formerly known as Büttner-Schilde-Haas and nowadays Büttner delivered three steam heated drum dryers in 1990 to the company Egger in Brilon, Germany.

Due to the constant increase in demand for particle boards the necessity of a performance increase of the dryers became ever more important as the years went by. In 2002 and in 2015 Büttner replaced two of the three drums increasing the water evaporation performance capacity of the dryers.

After 32 years the last drum will be replaced as part of a reinvestment and in the same instance further increasing the performance of the drying system. The longevity of the components as well as the efficiency increase of the system through the modification work once again reflects the competence of Büttner’s engineering services.

The specialty of this contract is the disassembly of the old and the installation of the new drum under very difficult spatial conditions on site. Egger once again places their trust in Büttner’s capability for successfully carrying out very demanding installation work. The delivery and installation of the new equipment is planned for the middle of 2022.

In addition to the particle board line Egger also operates an MDF line at the same site since 1995 with their first fiber dryer delivered by Büttner.
