SIEMPELKAMP Energy and Drying received the order for the supply of an energy and drying plant for the Bemidji site in Minnesota, USA, at the beginning of the second quarter of 2025.
The energy plant, with a 90 m² grate furnace, will supply the new OSB drum dryer with a flue gas output of more than 48 MW.
The SIEMPELKAMP Energy and Drying energy plant will also supply thermal oil to the press and the building's heating system, in total 20 MW.
The special feature of this order is the supply of SIEMPELKAMP Energy and Drying's largest OSB dryer to date, with a diameter of 7.5 m. In recent years, SIEMPELKAMP Energy and Drying has developed a completely new design for drum dryers of this size to ensure they can still be transported. This new design will be used here.
